Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
What's the difference between tax advisory and having my tax return lodged?
Tax return lodgement is compliance, a record of what’s already happened. Tax advisory looks ahead, planning your structure and decisions so the eventual tax outcome is a considered one.
Do you handle SMSFs or international tax?
No, these are outside our current scope of services.
How is Personal and Family Groups different from Personal & HNW Tax?
Personal & HNW Tax covers preparation and lodgement of individual tax returns. Personal and Family Groups is broader advisory work for the family group as a whole, looking at structuring and strategy rather than a single return.
How much does tax advisory cost?
It depends on the scope, an ongoing business tax engagement is priced differently to a one-off structuring review. We’ll set out the fee approach before any work begins.
Can you work with my existing solicitor or financial adviser?
Yes. Tax advisory, especially around structuring, trusts and estate matters, often works best alongside your solicitor or financial adviser, and we’re glad to coordinate directly with them.
How do I know which tax advisory service applies to me?
Most clients aren’t sure at first. Book an initial consultation and we’ll work out together which service, or combination of services, fits your situation.
Is this only for business owners, or also individuals and family groups?
Both. Our tax advisory work spans business tax through to personal, family group and estate-related advice.
